Quantum of Bookness

A move to digital books is inevitable in the short term, although it’s something we’ll probably regret over the long term.  I like the idea of digital distribution turning classically mass produced into fetish items.  If the music industry is smart, this is the kind of thing they could do to keep themselves afloat; transform themselves into a leaner, more design oriented industry that creates limited run, high end products.  Re-brand yourselves as a luxury industry.
